Two weekends ago, I had the chance to go to the Magic Kingdom with my Wife. It was awesome! We just hung out, walked around, and spent “Quality Time” together. I can’t tell you how much fun it was and how much I needed that weekend. Both Lydia and I have very busy schedules and we are always running from here to there. The crazy thing about this is that when you burn the candle at both ends, you start to get tired and it effects everything. So I have had to make myself do nothing work related and just relax. This doesn’t mean I don’t do anything, but that I have some fun. This allow me to feel better and not feel so stressed out. If you are wondering were I got this idea and think it is crazy, let me tell you it was started by the creator of the universe, God! He is that one who showed us that we have to take time off to re energize. He did it on the seventh day of creation and he commanded all the Jews to do it every Saturday. God knows that we need to take breaks and that if we don’t bad things are going to happen. It can be anything from just being to tired or even death from stress. God wants you to take some time off and relax. So when you start to get stressed out, think of what you can do to calm down and relax. Oh and take some time off every week just like God intended.

October 21, 2008Halloween Horror Night
October 20, 2008Last weekend I had the privilege to go to Halloween Horror Nights. And let me say it was amazing. I almost got the poop scared out of me. Not really, but that sounded good. I went with two of my friends Doug and Travis. When we got there we had early passes to Islands of Adventure, so we hung out there and rode rides like the Hulk and Spiderman. The Hulk was especially cool because it doesn’t use to chain to pull you up and then drop you. It uses magnets to shoot you straight into the first dive. It was cool. Probably the funniest thing we did the whole night was eat at the Dr. Sues Diner. It looked like we were in a Dr. Sues book and here are three guys sitting in a train eating their food with these kids all over the place.
After we ate, we went into Universal studios were Halloween Horror nights was. The first thing we see are these huge guys on stilts and their look like statues until they move and scare you. Above them were guys dressed in flight suits who would jump off the building, pretend to fall, and then swing up to the other side. Very cool. The haunted houses were great. The scariest one was about a photographer and one of the rooms had a strobe light going off with dummies dressed in black with white outlines on. Then there were a few real people dressed the same who would move when he strobe went off. What made it scary was that they would move right in front of your face from the other side of the room. It was awesome.
The whole night was awesome, but I did miss my wife. She was too scared to come. Anyway, why do you think people like to be scared? I like it because of the rush and excitement. What about you?
NOOOOOOOOOOO
October 14, 2008Just a minute ago I wrote a post that completely got erased. I am so mad, but what can I do.. Hopefully one day you will see what I wrote.
Ignite
October 13, 2008Last weekend my youth group went to Ignite at the Griffin Road Church of Christ. Ignite is a fantastic youth rally that they have every October. Brad Poyet their youth minister does a great job using art, speakers, games, songs, and atmosphere to teach the teens about God. The theme for the weekend was OVERCOME. It centered on how we are overcomers and not survivors. God didn’t give us a spirit of timidity, but of power. The speakers were exceptional. Brad delivered the first lesson about what it means to overcome. On Saturday morning I spoke on fighting of satan’s lies and we combat those lies in order to overcome. Finally on Saturday night Joel Singleton spoke on overcoming with faith. His lesson focused on faith and how without faith we can’t do anything because the power is from God and not ourselves. Each time we sang I felt the presence of the Lord and I know that God changed hearts this weekend. That allow makes the weekend awesome (my favorite word).
Since Ignite bring groups from all over Florida, my niece came with her group. Lydia and I house the girls from here group so we can see her. There are usually 5-9 of them and they take over everything. They make me watch these stupid movies about love, emotion, and romance. It makes me sick. The girls eat everything too. You would think that girls wouldn’t, but not these girls. Everything I had was fair game and they eat it. My niece ate some pizza that was two weeks old, although she didn’t know that. Even thought there are allot of them and they take over my house, I love when they come. They have a passion and love for life that most people don’t have. They are searching for something more then themselves even thought they get distracted by themselves sometimes.
So Brad keep them coming. Ignite is awesome!
My Birthday
October 8, 2008Last Friday was my birthday. In one word, it was amazing. My wife stayed home and we went to pick up our friends who were getting back from their honeymoon. They don’t live here so we went to breakfast and then they left. The rest of the day I got to spent time with my wife hanging out, goofing around, and enjoying her company. I did have to work for about 2 hours on my lesson, but that gave Lydia time to go get my presents.
Later that I night Lydia had a little party for me. It was cool. I made ice cream and we ate pizza and watched football. My parents showed up just before we ate, they live out of town. Then I got to have my birthday dinner with friend and family. I can’t tell you how much fun it was. Finally I got to open my presents. I had no idea that everyone would get me something because I didn’t want them to, but I will take it anyway.
All my presents were awesome, but Lydia and my parents got me an iphone. The iphone is the greatest phone ever. It does everything and is cool. So go get one!
After that I went to bed. I realize this is an odd post and I am in a weird mood so I hope it makes sense. Sorry if it is all over the place, but that is how I fell right now.
Fireproof
October 1, 2008Yesterday was an awesome day! I took the day off to be with my wife because she had the day off. One of the things that we wanted to do, was to go see the movie Fireproof. It was amazing! I loved every second. A couple of months ago I saw the Dark Night and I loved that movie, but Fireproof put Batman to shame. Firefroof is probubly on the top of my list now.
In the movie Kirk Cameron, known for acting in Growing Pains and his work on Way Of The Master evangelism, plays a fireman whose marriage is falling apart. In order to save the marriage, his father steps in and asks him to take a Love Dare. And just because I love the movie so much, I am not going to tell you anymore. I want you to go see it.
If your marriage is struggling, going great, or even if you are just dating you have to go see this movie. The movie focuses on how God should be the center of your life and your marriage. When we set our hearts on God, we will see a love we have never seen and learn what it really means to love someone else.
If you still don’t know if you should go see the movie, let me tell you this. I hate crying. It bothers me and I just don’t like it. But during this movie I had trouble holding back the tears. I managed not to ball, but there was a tear or two. So please go see this movie because I know that God can use it to change your life!
